We develep state of the art Warehouse Management Software. We are seeking Software Developers with a background in Computer Science, development or IT for our Louisville, Kentucky location. Develop software Installation packages based on received functional specifications, software design documents and developer input. These packages will provide our distribution and manufacturing software a competitive advantage. The individuals that directly install our software suite will enjoy working with our products.


Performance Objectives:

  • Develop and maintain our product build packaging (including Microsoft related technologies like MVC and SSRS Reports), installer and configuration framework by leveraging technologies and enhancing the install automation for our product deployments meeting the highest standards
  • Create and maintain custom setup and deployment solutions (packaging/authoring) and help releasing the product patches by modifying or developing the required installation framework
    • Rapid application development. Meeting specified deadlines.
    • Flexibility to customize to our customer's ever changing requirements.
    • Provide helpful input on how we can get better. Continuous improvement.
    • Help build the BSS team to be a recognized leader in software development and a great place to work.
    • Complete MS Certification as a Technology Specialist and Professional Developer.



  • Four-year degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Computer/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Qualified candidates should have some knowledge of technologies including Visual C#, Visual C++, SQL Server.  Some object oriented development desired
  • Knowledge of relational databases, Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Thorough understanding of the software development life cycle
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good understanding of Release and Configuration Management practices
  • Develops and integrates tools and methodologies for automated packaging, deployment and configuration of all applications within the environment
  • Troubleshoots application integration, deployment and configuration issues
  • Assists the project teams and application infrastructure architects to establish the physical environments as application code moves between environments on a smooth path to production
  • Provides input on new and existing processes and procedures based on industry best practices
  • Experience in creating and maintaining build scripts in Team Foundation Server 2008 and 2010
  • Experience with server virtualization like VMware and Hyper-V is a plus
  • To be able to troubleshoot software installation configuration issues on supported Operating Systems - Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2008r2, 2012

  • Knowledge of various Software Product Installer Authoring Tools like InstallShield, InstallAnywhere, Windows Installer, Nullsoft Scriptable Install System (NSIS), Windows Installer XML (WIX) is a plus but not required

General Duties:

  • Maintain and enhance the automated build, deploy and release process built using TFS, C# .NET and C++
  • Develop and support new and existing programs/modules related to build and deploy system
  • Manage and maintain TFS repositories (tag, branch, merge etc.)
  • Maintain and manage the source code escrow process
  • Support release management process
  • Participates in deployment planning, identifying deployment risks and mitigations, monitoring and maintaining the build environments
  • Support Client migration efforts in a build & configuration engineer capacity
  • This is a hands-on role where significant participation in build and escalated support activities will be expected, including highly technical problem solving and / or performing technical audits of work done by staff and vendors throughout all phases of the software development life cycle.
  • Will work in collaboration with the development team, testers and database administrators on small to complex scale .NET and C++ applications.
  • Create and maintain deployment environments
  • Verify results of nightly builds and unit tests. Work with developers on the results to have them corrected
  • Write technical documents as part of methodology established within the department.
  • Work closely with QA and DEV team to resolve day to day deployment environment related issues
