As a Regional Sales Manager you will develop, maintain, coach and mentor a dynamic engineering sales force. You will lead your team in engineering, selling and promoting the Bastian Solutions services and offerings. You will spend time working with each of your employees in their specific job function to ensure effectiveness and productivity with established policies and procedures, consistently communicating the directions and goals of your business unit. You will lead the development of new accounts, negotiating customer contracts and constantly enhancing internal and external processes.


Additional responsibilities of the Management role include:

  • Maintaining extremely strong customer relationships
  • Recruiting and hiring the best talent
  • Conducting effective annual employee reviews
  • Creating and maintaining effective individual employee incentive plans
  • Negotiating discounts with suppliers
  • Reviewing major proposals for accuracy and risk assessment prior to release
  • Ensuring your sales force has the bestselling tools
  • Conducting a weekly update meeting
  • Preparing sales forecasts and creating the annual budgets
  • Work with team to sell, concept, design, quote and implement projects in the territory


As a Regional Manager you must have significant strategic and analytical skills in order to develop a vision for the business and see it through to fruition. You must have staying power, with the ability to handle positive and negative business conditions with the confidence to speak your mind and challenge other manager's ideas. You must be able to enjoy success with your team while proactively addressing conflicts, serving your employees and always holding them accountable. Qualified candidates are very strong leaders who are have an engineering background, positive positive, energetic and highly motivated to succeed. Regional Sales Managers need to have a whatever it takes attitude because they will get involved from sales to implementation.


The ideal candidate has been in a technical sales role and is ready to take the next step in their career. The Regional Sales Manager must have a strong engineering foundation and the ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal business units.


Qualifications of the Management role include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Masters of Business Administration (MBA) a plus
  • 3-10 years in material handling and/or industrial automation is preferred
  • Solution sales experience is a plus
  • Ability to use AutoCAD
  • Strong computer skills with: MS Office and ability to learn Microsoft AX ERP
  • Outstanding demonstrated performance in previous career path
  • Strong strategic sales and business development skills
  • Ability to coach and mentor employees
  • Ability to build strong business relationships and partnerships
  • Excellent recruiting and retention skills
  • Highly organized with excellent project management skills
