This position pursues new and existing clients for industrial automation and supply chain software solutions. Serve as the principle liaison with our customers throughout the cycle of project involvement; from initial call through design and service/follow through.

The ideal candidate is someone with experience in industrial solution sales and has the ability to creatively concept a material handling solution which could include conveyor, pick modules, high speed sortation, automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), robotics and more. We work with hundreds of suppliers across the US to provide the best solution possible to our clients, the end user. Within Bastian Solutions we have consulting, systems design, robotic, software, custom engineering and controls.  Some data analysis and AutoCAD work will be required from a National Account Manager on the front end of the sale.

  • Ability to develop excellent client relationships and earn their trust though superior problem solving and hard work.
  • Close major system sales through a "top down" consultative selling approach.
  • Provide better solutions than our competition.
  • Strong consulting and concepting demonstrated through designs and data analysis.
  • Ability to perform any necessary task required for the bidding and execution of a project including basic skills in AutoCAD and Project Management.
  • Builds confidence with our major clients when making formal presentations.
  • Creative engineering (information and material flow) and innovative operational solutions.


  • BS or BBA Required. Undergraduate in Engineering preferred.
  • MBA or MS is a plus
  • Experience in team and solution sales strongly preferred.
  • Previous consultative selling experience preferred.
  • Experience with material handling systems integration preferred
  • Basic AutoCAD skills with a desire to improve
  • Willing to travel as needed to meet with customers (20-25%)

  General Duties:

  • New business development on a national basis.
  • Coordinate with specific resources (project managers, controls engineers, CAD / Simulation Engineers, etc.) to prepare proposals.
  • Continue to enhance and refine the tools / methodologies we use.
  • Maintain your education on a wide variety of material handling automation
  • Study the competition
