Bastian Solutions (Australia) located in Sydney is part of an international corporation servicing the material handling and automation industry. Our history dates back to the 1950's with a local presence since 2011. In 2017 Bastian Solutions was acquired by Toyota Industries Corporation as a flagship company for market entry into Automation.  The Australian entity is experiencing strong growth across many industry sectors including manufacturing, distribution and eCommerce.


The role is focused on identifying and pursuing new business revenue streams across different industries. You will work in conjunction with an internal design team/sales staff and report in to the General Manager. Your main focus is to develop customer accounts to grow the sales of the business unit and close business propositions as well as develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. You will act as main point of contact for the customer during the sales cycle. 

 

What you'll need to succeed :
To be considered for this role, it is essential you have external, on the road sales experience of selling solutions. Candidates with a sales background in the material handling industry will be well regarded. The required experience level is 2-4 years in a similar role and applicants must be comfortable with a mixture of both telephone and external sales on a business to business basis. You are a personable, polished individual, with an eye for opportunity and you are driven by outcomes and result both for yourself and for the company.

Qualification criteria:

  • Understand the 'sales' process
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology (industrial or mechanical preferred)
  • Enjoy networking and brining in new business
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, both with internal and external stakeholders
  • Organized with attention to detail
  • Proposal writing and quotation
  • A problem solver using engineering solutions
  • Driven, passionate, confident and energetic
  • Knowledge of MS Office products
  • Australian Citizen & Current NSW Driver's License
  • Minimum 2 years' experience of selling in the industrial, manufacturing or transport/logistics sector in the Australian Market

Experience Preferred (but not essential):

  • CAD experience (AutoCad)
