Bastian Solutions is growing!  We have recently entered the European market and opened an office in Madrid, Spain.  It is a great time to join an entrepreneurial engineering company specializing in advanced industrial automation!  We are adding a Field Application Engineer to our sales engineering team.

 

Overview:

A Field Applications Engineer develops strong relationships with the industrial clients (Manufacturing, food/beverage, distribution, etc.) and provides them with exceptional Robotics, material handling and automation solutions to meet their needs. The engineered solutions require an excellent understanding of material flow, information flow, and general business processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Discipline.
  • Technical sales experience in the industrial sector a plus.
  • Material Handling automation design and sales experience a plus.
  • Robotics experience a plus
  • Vision Guided Robotics a Plus
  • CAD experience (AutoCad).
  • Must speak English and Spanish. 

 

General Duties:

 

  • Focus on spending time in the field with your key "type A" customers helping them with their material handling needs.
  • Develop strong relationships with our customers through timely communication and scheduled visits.
  • Set Goals and manager your time effectively with a smart phone or equivalent(Outlook).
  • Promote Bastian Solutions Europe in all appropriate forums.
  • Master product information through training and personal efforts.
  • Provide professional quotes in a timely manner.  Fill out sales orders completely, both product and pricing information.
  • Master business technology (AutoCad, CRM, Power Point presentations, etc.).
  • Plan strategies for market penetration/account management.
  • Pursue leads from our suppliers within 4 business days.
  • Maintain customer database information current in our CRM.
  • Communicate with other Bastian Solutions Europe team members effectively.  Communicate strategic information regarding suppliers, customers and competition.
  • Maintain positive cash flow on systems projects.  Follow up on highlighted past due accounts.
  • Complete all administrative tasks/paperwork in timely manner.  Review revenue reports.  Inform Manager before month end of any adjustments.
  • Attend weekly sales meeting and other scheduled meetings on time.
  • Network with business contacts in the industry (i.e. professional organizations, specialty equipment providers, distributors, service organizations, government business resources, etc.).

 

 

Other:

Compensation: Salary plus incentive plan linked to goal compensation prorated based on success in various individual and team metrics such as maintaining schedule, installation budget, customer and supplier satisfaction, and safety.

Travel: 50-70% overnight travel expected within Europe, including extended stays for start-ups.  Out of town durations will vary with locality of projects. Goal for extended projects is to return home every other weekend.

Occasional significant overtime required when necessary during commissioning and equipment acceptance testing.   Flex time along with a travel compensation package is available for extended travel requirements.
