A Bastian Software Solutions (BSS) Logistics Consultant is responsible for initiating, supporting and executing sales and consulting opportunities on behalf of Bastian Solutions. He or she works with the sales team to achieve overall sales goals for the company. Works in a team-oriented manner with their colleagues and senior management for the mutual success of the company and themselves as a Solutions Engineer.

Superior Performance Objectives:

  • Generate sales leads through prospecting and networking
  • Deliver consistent sales pipeline for engineered, WMS, and WCS solution
  • Exceeding the annual sales goals (metrics). Ability to close sales.
  • Penetrates new target accounts
  • Responsive to customer requests whether it be quotes or corrective action.
  • Great team work and mutual respect with the rest of the BSS employees
  • Participate in Engineering / Consulting Studies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering. MBA Preferred.
  • Strong computer skills with: MS Office, MS CRM.
  • Experience in team and national account selling strongly preferred.
  • Previous consultative selling or consulting experience preferred.
  • Experience with warehouse management and/or material handling systems preferred.

General Duties:

  • Responsible for own lead generation process and for continued project involvement throughout a project's lifecycle. The Solutions Engineer is to function as a facilitator, wherever necessary, between BSS and the customer to ensure all parties are successful.
  • Out in the field calling on potential or existing customers two (2) to three (3) times per week.
  • Facilitate positive working relationships with suppliers, customers and business partners. Provide other BSS functional departments with constructive feedback on how to better service customers.
  • MS CRM reports turned in weekly.
  • Produce Power Point presentations and Exacta demonstrations in a timely manner that best suits prospective customers' needs with regard to timing, content and all other considerations.
  • The Solutions Engineer is expected to be fully capable of producing proposals, presentations administering product demonstrations on their own. However, if the Solutions Engineer requires any assistance whatsoever it is their responsibility to properly plan ahead to schedule the necessary resources. The end goal is for the company to be successful which often requires team efforts.

  • Participates in Industry Trade Shows. Strive to become an industry "Speaker" and produce "White Papers".
  • Demonstrates superior customer service (as measured by our customers: repeat business and reputation).
  • Excellent representation and development of our key 3rd party supplier product lines and services (AAI, Bastian, Subcontractors).
  • Participate in consulting role for engineering studies including: data analysis, system design, and final report/presentation generation.
  • A minimum of 20% overnight travel should be expected.
  • Other duties as assigned.
