Bastian Solutions is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to oversee all external (upstream) financial and management reporting requirements. The role will be responsible for preparing monthly statutory and operational close packages, based on corporate requirements from Toyota Industries Corporation (Bastian Solutions' Corporate parent in Japan). Responsibilities will also include overseeing accounting projects related to internal financial controls, as assigned by the CFO. The Senior Corporate Accountant will work closely with the Controller and will directly report to Bastian Solutions' Chief Financial Officer. The Senior Corporate Accountant will demonstrate strong leadership and will have the capability to grow quickly and take on additional responsibility.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • At least 6 years of industry experience
  • CPA certification
  • Strong knowledge and ability to learn and apply technical accounting concepts in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS
  • Strong PC skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of foreign currency translation
  • Ability to oversee a monthly close process
  • Proficient at preparing and reviewing financial statements
  • Adept at preparing monthly variance analysis
  • Familiarity with Project Based Accounting in Microsoft AX environment is a strong plus; but not required

General Duties:

  • Oversee all external (upstream) financial and management reporting requirements
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly statutory and operational close packages
  • Ensure and/or assist with maintaining effective internal controls
  • Support internal and external auditing activities
  • Assist company in executing company policies and compliance reports
  • Provide a leadership role in all aspects of the company's financial operations
  • Work with Controller/CFO to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit
  • Assist in preparation of audit work papers for year-end audit
  • Work with IT (MS AX) to streamline manual operations
  • Participate in corporate strategic recommendations
  • Analysis of monthly general ledger account activity, journal entries, accruals, variances to forecast, and reconciliation of various accounts, fixed asset administration, and various employee benefit accounting
  • Perform analysis on various company projects and plans and provide alternatives and recommendations
  • Review standard costs, including appropriate overhead allocations
  • Periodic review of product margins and advise management as necessary
  • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
  • Provide support and/or accounting guidance to business unit managers and their staff as needed.
  • Provide training to new and existing staff as needed
  • Supports budget and forecasting activities
